power. the crash happened at 1:00 o'clock this morning. the impact cut the utility pole in half. it woke up the neighborhood. residents heard a loud "boom" and thought a plane was crashing, maybe, and then all went dark. >> my power when out. everything shut off in the house. i hope pg&e can get the power running because i have to get to work in the morning and i need my alarms. >> you may want to consider giving a wake-up call to anyone you know in hayward. some clock will not go off. the power could be out all morning. police say the driver of the truck did run away but they caught him and they are charging him with d.u.i. and hit and run. >> more on the breaking news leyla gulen has been talking about. we got video in the abc news

hospitalized after an accident at the fremont plant. the c.e.o. visited the injured workers. we are at valley medical center in san jose with the latest. matt? >> it has been 17 hours sin the industrial accident at the tesla plant in fremont. we still do not know what the recovery looks like. two workers remain at valley medical center in san jose. the c.e.o. of tesla motors visited the workers telling us he wanted to make sure they were okay. the scene around the fremont tesla plant after a piece of equipment malfunctioned in a dye casting operation. three workers got buns, and one was seriously injured. one was released from the hospital last night. >> it is hot metals splashed on

them. it looks i am guessing will make a full recovery. in the case of one gentleman, jesus, his hands were burned badly. his recovery is not clear. >> osha is investigating the accident. this is after tesla was cited for several violations one which was serious because there was not a piece of protective equipment in place. osha has six months to complete the investigation. >> friends and family of an 18-year-old set on fire on an a.c. transit bus plan to march from oakland high school to hang ribbons along the bus line. the 16-year-old richard thomas sent flash -- fleischman on fire by lighting his father.

legionnaire's disease was found. it is believed that the bacteria developed inside the pipes connected to rarely used emergency showers and could cause fail pneumonia but no one at the state-of-the-art facility has gotten sick. 500,000 pipe renovation is slated next month. >> a search is underway in the pacific ocean for a cruise ship passenger who reportedly went over after leaving san francisco three days ago. the coast guard is searching for the woman 750 miles northeast of the big island of hawaii. security video on the we princess shows the passenger intentionally going over. no word on her name but is american and between 30 and 54. >> much needed relief is arriving in the philippines we to typhoon haiyan victims with have gone without food and clean

van into a power pole so hard it triggered a massive outage leaving thousands in the dark for several hours. amy hollyfield is on the scene. >> we just got a new update from peg meg and they say 489 customers are in the dark. crews are still working on the repair and are working as quickly and safely as possible to get it fixed. a van hit the utility pole and snapped it in half. there were 5,700 customers out of power. this happened at 1:00 o'clock a.m. with residents saying it was loud enough to wake up the neighborhood. >> i was sitting there and i heard a loud "boom." i saw the van here and i ain't got no pow we. i thought a plane crashed. something like that.

>> this happened in hayward. word is all of the power will be back on by noon. they are making good progress. they could have it on before then. some alarm clocks may not go off in hayward this morning. the driver ran away from the scene but they did catch it and he is charged with d.u.i. and hit and run. >> pg&e is working to restore power to a thousand people in marin county after the lights went out after 1:00 o'clock with the latest numbers: pg&e says this are two outages in sausalito affecting 1,100 customers. when the lights first went out 3,000 people were in the dark. pg&e says it is nut sure what caused the outage but crews are working to get the power on. traffic-wise there have been several problems. leyla gulen is tracking them

website at abc7news.com, click on "see it on tv." >> two women are accused of creating the identities of dozens including breast cancer patients. police arrested the two women november 5 after they checked into a hotel using a stillen credit card. officers sent to investigate found stolen mail and personal information from at least 100 people in the women's hotel room. investigators determined that the information was for parents at a breast cancer center in oakland. they tracked down 15 of the patients, most saying they had been victims of identity theft. >> fremont police are looking for a thief would posed as a delivery hand to steal packages. look at video, a man is carrying an empty box and drops it off and off and picks up two other boxes

calls early this morning. seven homes have been evacuated and power has been should off. officials evaluate the size of the problem. the boat is gone, too. >> a grand jury is stepping up charges against a milkest accused in the road rage attack on an s.u.v. driver. he faces four felony charges. the prosecution says he slowed down in front of the rain rover and caused the accident that injured another motorcyclist and led to the driver being pulled out of the s.u.v. and badly beaten. cruz was originally charged with the misdemeanor. >> this morning, police are investigating a disturbing trend among uc santa cruz students after drinks are spiked with drugs at parties. the incident involved three female students at off campus parties. one was sexually assaulted.
